District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar today inaugurated non-formal education block in Government Degree College Kathua.
The new block shall house various offices of IGNOU, Distance and Jammu University Sub Office.The DC congratulated the students and staff of the college for the new block which shall facilitate the students and their parents for getting any sort of information regarding non-formal education and that too just from near the college main gate. He said that this block shall avoid unnecessary rush in the main blocks of the college and thus the studies of the students shall not be hampered.Meanwhile, the DC inaugurated the Biometric Attendance System in the college which shall provide more fool proof attendance of the college employees.Principal of the college Dr. Nater Singh disclosed that present building was constructed from the internal sources in the shape of material and financial resources of the college. This is the much needed infrastructure for the growth and development of NAAC ‘A’ Grade college and it was highly necessitated to construct rooms for such offices near the college main gate in order to avoid any untoward incident and heavy rush due to the entry of Distance and IGNOU students.A large gathering of staff and students of the college were present on the occasion.
