Democratic Party (Nationalist) chief Ghulam Hassan Mir Saturday said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been vindicated that the National Food Security Act was not a revolutionary food law.Mir said that people resisted the implementation of NFSA because it deprived them of essential ration. “Today, people have been proved right that NFSA was not a revolutionary act as claimed by the PDP-led coalition government. Had NFSA been so then the government would not have increased the ration quota for pubic under a new entitlement,” Mir said this while addressing a convention in Karew, Kreeri in Baramulla district where a number of senior political activists joined DPN.DPN General Secretary Nazir Ahmad Dialgami also addressed people on the occasion.

Among those who joined his party were Abdul Gani Dar, Mushtaq Ahmad and their other associated.Mir said that the PDP-led government had in last Budget session promised in Assembly to waive off Kisan Credit Card loans of farmers, but they did not live upto their word.“Since Budget session of the Assembly is upcoming, farmers hope that the government would fulfill its promise,” the former minister said.Mir said that the Jammu and Kashmir is being changed into consumer state, when the government could have made efforts to make it a productive state.Mir said that DPN’s mission is to remain committed for directing youth toward a better future.“Our party is committed to shape the future of the youth in the Valley, and work for their security and don’t push them for picking guns,” he said.
