Congress Saturday demanded a judicial probe into the five unarmed civilian killings in Kupwara district and blamed the government for the present fragile situation in the Valley.According to KNS Correspondent, Several Congress leaders held a protest march at MA Road here, carrying placards scribbled with slogans like ‘Stop Killings of Innocents’ and ‘Punish the guilty’.“The PDP-BJP government is directed by the RSS from Nagpur and has failed to rein in the security forces in killing civilians,” the leaders said. They said that the magisterial probe ordered by the government is not enough and a judicial probe by a serving judge should be ordered. “We won’t tolerate the brutal killings of civilians in Kashmir,” the leaders said. The leaders marched upto Regal Chowk where police bundled them in police vans. Those who were taken into custody by police included MLA Bandipora Usman Majeed, youth general secretary Sheikh Amir Rasool, youth leader Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, Irfan Naqib, Dr Syed and spokesman Farooq Indrabi.
