Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary accompanied by other officers carried out a day long inspection of ration depots and camps organised for enrolment under National Food Security Act in different villages of Udhampur, Majalta and Ramnagar tehsils. The team inspected 28 camps and ration depots.The NFSA teams briefed officers on progress achieved and public issues redressed. Apart from 179 teams constituted by district administration a team of more than 230 volunteers and social workers as well as NGOs associated with administration are assisting people in filling up forms and help resolve issues.Inter-departmental teams of Revenue, Rural Development Department, Health, Social Welfare, ICDS and CAPD have jointly organised the enrolment drive under which forms were distributed to 1,17,000 families and so far more than 79,000 forms have been filled and received back by the interdepartmental teams.
Mobile teams have also been deputed for inspection and assistance. A central grievance redressal cell (01992-272727) has been established for receiving complaints and extending assistance.DC informed that following district wide awareness campaign conducted by senior district officers, response has been overwhelming and 100% enrolment shall be completed in next two days. He instructed field staff to carry out enrolment in hilly areas simultaneously with scrutiny process to ensure that people do not face any hardship.Patwaris have been deputed at enrolment camps and ration depots along with record to issue income certificates to applicants to help facilitate the enrolment process.Addl DC Angrez Singh Rana, CMO Dr Chander Parkash, CEO Bishen Singh, AD CAPD Aamir Choudhary, SDM Ramnagar Dhirender Shama, Tehsildar Sandeep Sharma, CEO Municpal Council, BDOs, TSOs and other officers accompanied the DC.
