MLA Ramban Neelam Langeh today distributed 100 Soil Health Cards among the farmers in a function organized by Department of Agriculture at Maitra Ramban to mark World Soil Health Day.While addressing the gathering, MLA called upon farmers to use traditional and locally made manure for agricultural purposes.Likewise, the department of Agriculture, Udhampur also organized an awareness programme to create awareness among the farming community about the benefits of soil testing.
Speaking on the occasion, Joint Director Planning, Udhampur Rakesh Singh Jamwal called upon the farmers to take utmost benefits of the scheme and adopt all the technical know-how imparted by the department to uplift their economic status.Later, Soil Health Cards were distributed with recommendations of balanced dose of fertilizers and micro nutrients among the farmers. On the occasion, Department of Agriculture, Samba also released a documentary on soil health and distributed 100 Soil Health Cards among the farmers of the district. Chief Agriculture Officer, Samba, Kulbushan Singh Sambyal informed that the farmers will be provided with Soil Health Cards in a phased manner enabling the farmers use recommended dose of fertilizers instead of imbalanced practice of applying fertilizers.
