Minister of State for Finance & Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta laid foundation stone for the construction of a double lane motorable bridge over Devika rivulet at Omara Morh, Udhampur, here today.After laying the foundation stone of 14.5 meters double lane motorable bridge being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.23 Cr by Public Works Department, Gupta said that more such developmental projects are in pipeline which include double lane of Omara to Forest Office road, installation of lights & construction of foot path along side of circular road besides construction of bridge over Devika near ice factory.The Minister also directed the concerned officers of the executing agency for ensuring time bound completion of the project while maintaining quality on ground. while giving instructions to the engineers of executing agency, Mr. Gupta said the better road connectivity and bridges are vital for social and economic upgradation of people and there should be no compromise with the quality of material.Among others, Executive Engineer PWD, Mr. Rajesh Gupta, Engineers of the department, prominent citizens and people of the area were present on the occasion.
