Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Bali Baghat today said that more than 10000 kanals of forest land have been retrieved from encroachers after the present government took over in March this year.The Minister was replying to the discussion on a resolution moved by Saif–ud-Din Bhat on preservation of natural resources of the state.The legislator had demanded constitution of a committee of experts to assess the threats to the state’s natural resources.The member later withdrew the resolution after assurance from the Government that steps would be taken to safeguard the State’s natural resources.
