Lashing out at the opposition NC - Congress for being insensitive and dishonest towards miseries of people, PDP General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir said that it is a criminal breach of negligence that the previous regime threw the report of its senior minister to dust, that proposed a preventive flood protection program well in time. Had the government taken serious note of it, possibly there would have been less damage. Mir said that it's the senior minister's admission that after floods, the government didn't follow the standard of procedure (SoP) where no beats were formed and no vigilance took place.
According to a statement issued to KNS, on relied distribution Mir alleged that the loot and embezzlement of relief material at the hands of NC and Congress politicians is enough to suggest their mindsets and dishonesty.
Hundreds of truck loads of relief went missing from the god owns and the it didn't reach to the real suffers. The most ironic and shameful thing was that the ministers representing constituencies where there were no floods whisked away the government relief and distributed it as personal or party favours. In furtherance, the previous regime kept sleeping over its duty to follow up with the centre and submit an on time report on damages due to floods. The real heroes of the deluge, our youth that played a pivotal role in rescue was very much discredited by the Omar led government and contrary faced the wrath at the hands of the "youth icon". On PDP's stance on flood relief the general secretary said that it is true that a lot more is to be done and expectations are high, we are committed to rebuild the valley brick by brick.
The speed of delivery would have been more higher and done in a more prompt way but given to certain financial and administrative complications done by previous regime there we have to overcome many roadblocks. He said that certain things cannot be brought to public domain to maintain the sanctity of democratic institutions, which would have otherwise bitterly exposed the doings of NC - Congress who are blaming PDP today.We are committed to serve the people and our party won't succumb to roadblocks of the opposition. Mir appealed the people to give mufti led government time and repose faith in PDP as the party hand in hand with people , will make Kashmir rise again. (KNS)
