Arunachal CM calls on DoNER Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh

Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Nabam Tuki called on the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh here today and held a one- to- one meeting with him to discuss a wide range of issues including those related to current political situation in the State, the security scenario and the development works for which the State Government has sought Central assistance. 

Dr. Jitendra Singh assured Shri Nabam Tuki of maximum Central assistance in every possible way to expedite various development works in the State. He said Rs. 30 crore and Rs. 25 crore respectively was the estimated budget for construction of RCC Bridge over river Pachin connecting ISBT to Naharlagun Railway Station and for road connectivity in the capital complex with by-pass roads.Responding to the request of the Chief Minister to bring up a High Court complex at Itanagar, Dr. Jitendra Singh said the Secretariat and Legislature buildings at Itanagar are already being funded by the DoNER Ministry and only after the two projects are through, the funding for High Court complex could be contemplated, if feasible. 

Meanwhile, he said, the DoNER Ministry will try to work out the feasibility of funding the proposed Rs. 150 crore multi-purpose sports stadium at Itanagar. The work on airport is also shortly going to be taken up, he added. Dr. Jitendra Singh appreciated the people of Arunachal Pradesh for the patience shown by them in the wake of some of the recent incidents of law and order in the Northeast and informed that considering the high potential of the State and its scenic attributes, the Government has also sanctioned a Film Institute in the State.The Chief Minister sought the intervention of DoNER Minister to carry forward the work of important road linking Seppa-Chayang Tajo, measuring 81 kms, which was sanctioned by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and the work is to be carried out by Gammons India Ltd. In view of the cost escalation and resultant delay, the Chief Minister said the State Government has submitted a revised estimate to the North Eastern Council
