ਰਿਆਤ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਗਣਿਤ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੇਟ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਫਾਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਐਂਡ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਫਾਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਐਂਡ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਕਮਿਊਨੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਪਾਂਸਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ 400 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਮੌਕੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਨੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਣਿਤ ਦੀ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ’ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਪਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਵਾਈਸ-ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਐਮਸੀਐਮ ਡੀਏਵੀ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਡਾ. ਨੀਲਾ ਪਵਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਸੂਝ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗਣਿਤ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਉਪਯੋਗਾਂ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਰਕੀਟੈਕਚਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਕਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਣਿਤ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਸੁਚੇਤਾ ਦੱਤ, ਪੀਈਸੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਡਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਪਤ ਕੋਡ (ਕ੍ਰਿਪਟੋਗ੍ਰਾਫੀ) ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਨੈਟਵਰਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਆਰਟੀਫਿਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਸਤ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹਨ।
ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨੋਜ ਬਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਗਣਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਮਾਨੁਜਨ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਯੋਗਦਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਢਲੀ ਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਢੀ ਫਾਰਮੂਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਖੋਜਕਰਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਤਿ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਈਵੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਜੇਤੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਰਵਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਮੁਖੀ ਗਣਿਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
Two-Day Workshop to Celebrates National Mathematics Day at RBU

Rayat Bahra University School of Sciences hosted a two-day Mathematics workshop in celebration of National Mathematics Day, sponsored by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and the National Council for Science and Technology Communication. Over 400 enthusiastic students engaged in various events and competitions, infusing the workshop with vibrant energy.
The event commenced with S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, the esteemed Chancellor of the University, emphasizing the practical significance of mathematics in daily life, urging students to sustain their enthusiasm for the subject. Prof. Parvinder Singh, the Vice-Chancellor, applauded the students' ingenuity and inventive presentations.
Expert insights were shared by Dr. Neela Pawar, a retired Professor from MCM DAV, Chandigarh, who elucidated the historical applications of mathematics, particularly in architecture and sculpture. Dr. Sucheta Dutt, a professor from PEC, talked about how coding and secret codes (cryptography) help keep computer networks safe and how they're important in making artificial intelligence smarter.
Prof. Manoj Bali, the Dean of the University School of Sciences, highlighted the monumental contributions of Ramanujan to mathematics, including his groundbreaking research and pioneering formulas that continue to inspire modern researchers. He underscored the simplicity underlying mathematical concepts once comprehended.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of prizes to event winners, fostering a spirit of participation and motivation among the students. Dr. Ravneet Kaur, the Head of the Mathematics Department, extended gratitude to all participants, bringing the event to a satisfying close.
