To celebrate Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah and Shri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav, a grand “Kalash Yatra” was organized, here today.Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture Priya Sethi attended and participated in the Yatra.The Yatra was organised by the Satsang Prachar Sewa Mandal, Jammu Kashmir and commenced from Geeta Bhawan Parade Ground Jammu and passed through various lanes and bylanes of Shalamar, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, RajTilak Road and culminated back at Geeta Bhawan Parade Ground, Jammu.Speaking on the occasion, Priya lauded the efforts of the Sewa Mandal for successfully organizing the event and called upon the people to participate in the events which are part of the rich culture of the state. She said joint celebrations by people from all walks of life is hallmark of the composite culture of the state and strengthens the social fabric of the society.Giving details of the events, Organizing secretary Parshotam Sharma, informed that the Bhagwat Saptah which starting today the 30th of August will continue till 6th September at Geeta Bhawan Parade Ground, Jammu. On 5th September a grand “Shri Krishna Janmashtmi mahotsav” will be celebrated from 9:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. On the last day 06th September “Virat Sant Sammelan” will be held at 11:00 am at the Geeta Bhawan , in which prominent saints of Jammu city and outskirts will guide the society to the path of righteousness.
