As the state legislative Assembly is likely to meet for a brief autumn session of 10 days from September 29, the main opposition party  National conference Saturday criticized the government’s move and termed the duration as ‘too short’.“It is very disappointed with the short session of the Assembly since it is a place where legislators introduce bills for the people of the State. The elected representatives cannot get enough time to raise ‘burning issues’ being faced by the people of the state,” National conference General Secretary told KNS over phone. He said that the government on record had said in the last Assembly session that next session will be lengthy. “I want to ask the government that how it is possible to discuss the issues of public in 10 days,”Sagar further said that National Conference is ready to challenge the government over the various issues including the rehabilitation of the flood victims.  “We are ready as an opposition to raise the issue of the common people of the Jammu and Kashmir.

There are several issues including the human rights violations which we will raise in the session,” he said.It is pertinent  to mention here that  the autumn session of  the Assembly is likely to meet from September 29 for a brief session of 10 days. The state’s Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry had prepared a note which will be placed before the cabinet for the final decision. The budget session of the state legislature was adjourned sine die on April 09 and according to Constitutional requirement, the state assembly must meet at least once within a period of six months, which means the government has to convene the Assembly session before October 09.
