Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir has said that the economic welfare of rural and kandi areas is the top priority of the government adding that implementation of special schemes for socio-economic transformation have yielded tangible results at grass root level in the State.Addressing series of public meetings today at village Manzmoh, Tanjloo, Check-i-Wangund and Dalwach Gasgisgund in Dooru, the Minister said governments’ priority is to upgrade communication, education and health cover in these areas and extent assistance to help generate economic activities and give fillip to the education and health care facilities.Reiterating the commitment of the state government towards holistic development of all the regions of the State with special focus on far-off and hilly areas, the Minister said the government’s pro-people policies and exemplary initiatives have placed the State on the track of peace and prosperity. He affirmed that this would be carried forward with a mission to ensure all-round development of rural as well as kandi areas. 

Highlighting the priorities under Tourism sector, the Minister said that all such areas having tourism potential would be brought on States’ tourism map for their development and creation of necessary infrastructure.Referring to the development of Dooru Constituency, the Minister enumerated several measures taken for holistic development of the area. He said besides up gradation of infrastructure under core sectors, the varied tourism potential of the area received focused attention adding that work on several tourism projects have been already completed, while some projects would be completed this fiscal and many more projects are in pipe line including construction of Rope Way at Veerinag.

Mir said that in order to address water scarcity in the area the construction work of 16 Water Supply Schemes has been prioritized to be completed this financial year. He said due consideration is also being given to upgrade irrigation, power, health, education and road connectivity facilities in the areas. He said in this regard crores of rupees are being utilized during this fiscal and concerned Departments have already been directed to complete the developmental targets well in time for the convenience of locals.The Minister called upon the people to come forward and take more and more benefits of the welfare schemes launched by the government for their economic transformation.Mir also called upon the Panches and Sarpanches to highlight the problems and developmental needs of the people before the government for their early mitigation. He said that they should also ensure that benefits of Flagship programmes like MGNERGA, NRHM, PMGSY, R-APDRP and SSA, RMSA reach to all villages and hamlets.Meanwhile, the Minister visited several villages of the constituency and took stock of people’s problems and developmental needs. He assured the Villagers that all their genuine demands and developmental needs would be mitigated in a phased manner.
