Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq today conducted an extensive tour of Budgam district and took stock of various developmental works in the area.The Minister, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Mr. Altaf Ahmad Mir, Director Rural Development, Kashmir, Mr. Tasaduq Jeelani, Director Rural Sanitation, Mr. Showkat Ahmad Beig, ACD Budgam and other concerned officers inspected Shiekhbagh Panchayat  Nursery which is spread over 204 kanals of land on which about 88959 trees are planted. He directed the district administration Budgam for its clear demarcation. He also asked Municipal Committee Budgam to take immediate steps for its cleanliness.

Mr. Haq gave directions to the Rural Development Department for repairing of fencing of the Panchayat Nursery on priority basis.At Chadoora, the Minister inspected the site of Rural Extension Training Centre for which land has been acquired and Rs 25 lakh have been expended on the construction of boundary wall.En-route at Ichgam, several deputations called on the Minister and put forth their demands before him. Responding to the demands, the Minister gave on spot directions for construction of latrine block in Boys Higher Secondary School Ichgam under Sawach Bharat Mission and assured them that he will take up the matter regarding allotment of power grid station and power transformer with the concerned on priority.While interacting with people, the Minister said that present dispensation led by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syed is well aware about the public issues and several initiatives are in pipeline for their timely redressal so that new era of development and prosperity usher all three regions of the State.
