PDP-BJP govt an 'opportunistic coalition': Rahul Gandhi

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today arrived in valley on his one-day visit and called the PDP-BJP government an "opportunistic coalition".According to GNS correspondent, the Congress VP addressed the Saffron Growers at Doosu in Pampore. In his address, he slammed BJP government and said not only farmers are suffering in J&K but across India. "This (BJP) government is of two three businessmen," he said.Rahul said the UPA government not only helped Saffron Growers financially but "we supported you by heart". "We want more and more help should be provided to you," he said.Rahul said he considers JK as his home. "My ancestors are from here," hr said, adding: "I feel happy whenever I come here but I also feel said because over the years people here faced lot of hardships."He said the Congress led UPA "brought peace" in Kashmir and "eradicated" militancy. "UPA brought peace and eradicated terrorism. We provided employment and notably, held Panchayat elections...," he said."But the sad part is that NDA is not doing what we did. This (PDP-BJP) is an opportunistic coalition and is not helping coalition," he added.The Congress vice president, after addressing Saffron Growers, then went to Sopore and addressed party workers at Town Hall. He is leaving valley tomorrow. (GNS)
