Deputy Commissioner Anantnag today paid a visit to September, 2014 flood affected areas. He was accompanied by officers of R&B, Flood Control and other concerned departments.Deputy Commissioner visited Jangalat Mandi, Hyder Colony, Deva Colony, Danter, Pushwara, Khanabal, Achabal Adda, Dangerpora and Naibasti. He took stock of the on spot position and the steps taken by various departments in post-2014 flood relief and rehabilitation measures and also inspected various protection bund works on Aripath nallah.  

During the visit, he instructed the Irrigation & Flood Control department to start desilting of Aripath nallah, fortifying the already constructed flood protection bunds, so that areas falling from Janglat mandi to Khanabal do not inundated in case of any future eventuality. He further directed the concerned agencies to intensify the process of removal of encroachments, especially the cutting of trees, along the nallahs and river banks all across the district.Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the concerned officers to work in close coordination so that the relief, rehabilitation and developmental works are not hampered on one or the other pretext.
