Shiromani Akali Dal General Secretary and Spokesman Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra strongly opposed the Congress move of registering a complaint with election commission targeting the use of Punjab registered vehicles in Delhi and described it as Congress’ attempt to camouflage bogus votes issue raised by Shiromani Akali Dal. He said that Delhi is the national capital and attitude adopted by Congress party in Delhi has raised the grievances of Punjabis visiting the national capital on their Punjab registered vehicles for various reasons.

In a statement issued here, Prof. Chandumajra said that these baseless charges of Congress party to cover the bogus votes issue against it have clearly shown the level of frustration in the party. He said that the height of idiocy was that Congressmen who registered complaint to election commission were accompanied by Punjab congress leaders and that too on Punjab registered vehicles.Prof. Chandumajra said that so far Congress was addicted of following undemocratic practices to threaten the voters of Punjabi dominated areas. “Now when Shiromani Akali Dal has strengthened its base in Delhi, Congress was finding it too difficult to apply its age old tactics. Our party has always respected the rule of law and election code of conduct but we will not allow Congress party to create troubles for Punjabis visiting the national capital for various reasons”, he added.Prof. Chandumajra advised Congress leadership to shed frustration and be prepared for the clean sweep defeat as people of Delhi have decided to root them out.
