Hurriyat (M) condemns police’s nocturnal raids to arrest youth

Condemning the action of government forces during which they carried out nocturnal raids to arrest large number of youth in Khudwani, Kulgam, Pattan and Pulwama areas of Kashmir, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman stated that government forces were orchestrating state sponsored terrorism in these areas by carrying out arrest of youth, cordoning areas and harassing civilians which has turned the lives of locals miserable.The spokesman said the oppression of government forces have reached beyond limits which has affected the commercial activities in these areas and created an atmosphere of fear and terror.Senior Hurriyat (M) leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza visited south Kashmir’s Kaimoh and Khudwani areas where he expressed solidarity with the locals, spokesman said, adding, he also strongly denounced the state sponsored terrorism.

The senior leader said more than 10 youth have been arrested by police and army in these areas and lodged in Awantipora and Islamabad police stations. He stated the government forces were carrying indiscriminate raids to arrest more youths in these areas.Waza stated that forces have ransacked houses and beaten people while carrying out raids. He stated that people were being subjected to worst form of oppression and state sponsored terrorism for showing resolve and commitment towards freedom struggle. (KNS)
