Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda addressed a press conference at Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh office Kamalam, Sector 33 today regarding the disruption of parliament’s Monsoon Session by the Congress Party. He was accompanied by the State President of BJP Chandigarh Sh Sanjay Tandon.
The conference started with the screening of key footage from the parliament proceedings which amply exposed the negativity of the Congress party. Addressing the media persons Mr Nadda said that the primary purpose of today’s press conference was to put before the media and through the media before the common citizen of the country the perpetrators of parliament disruption, their mechanizations and ulterior motives. He said that during the budget session of the parliament the Loksabha and the Rajyasabha capacity utilization was 123% and 102% respectively.
Not only was this unprecedented atleast in the last 15 years but also all kinds of items including private members bills were taken up and discussed. This successful and optimum operation of the parliament could not be digested by the Congress party, which chose to disrupt the parliament and the National interest was sacrificed for the personal interests of the Gandhi family. He said that the debate on the second last day, as screened earlier, clearly showed the hollowness of the Congress arguments. The Gandhi family had neither been able to come to terms with their massive defeat nor with the success of the Government on all fronts. The GDP which never crossed 5% during the long UPA rule has already crossed 7% within one year of Modi Government. FDI worth $ 19.78 billion has already come in to the country while Indian Corporates have acquired assets and made other investments abroad worth $ 42 billion. The economy is getting boosted.
This is a Government for action, governance and committed to development of every section of the society. Even on the non economic front their have been major initiatives such as The Naga Peace accord on which nothing had happened for the last 41 years and there was unrest in the North East. Similarly the Indo Bangladesh accord signed by Smt Indira Gandhi was finally implemented by the Modi Government. This work of National growth and development is what the Congress party has not been able to tolerate particularly over the petty self interests of the Gandhi family. The main purpose of the Congress party’s obstruction of the parliament was to stall the GST bill. Even though the bill had originally been brought by the UPA Government and even later their arguments in the select committee were well received they now opposed the bill. Implementation of GST would result in greater economic growth of the country, elimination of double taxation, uniform tax rates and complete transparency. Which is why the Congress , unable to digest the country’s growth, has made every efforts to stall the growth by atleast one year.
The Congress party has struck severe blows on the decorum of the parliament which are unprecedented in Indian history. Never before, in the Indian parliament, have their been instances of paper being torn and thrown before the honourable speaker or the main leader of the opposition party storming into the well of the house and that too driven solely by personal interest.The main difference between the NDA and the Congress as opposition parties has been that while the NDA wanted discussion in the parliament on issues such as 2G, Coalgate etc which the UPA never permitted the Modi Government has been completely willing for discussion from day one under any rule or clause. We believe in discussion and maintaining the dignity of the procedures of the parliament. Mere 40 people holding the other 400 and the entire country to ransom is grossly undemocratic.The press conference was also attended by BJP State vice president Sh Raghubir Lal Arora, Leader of the party in MCC Sh Arun Sood, General Secy Sh Prem Kaushik and Sh Chander Shekhar, National vice president of Mahila Morcha Smt Asha Jaswal, Spokespersons Dr Dharinder Tayal, Dr A P Sanwariya, Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, Naveen Kochar, Media Cell Convener Ravinder Pathania and Co convener Baljinder Singh Gujral.
