To review the performance of various banks, a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Khan.The meeting was attended by the Lead Bank Manager, Project Officer, DRDA, District Social Welfare Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, other District Officers, representatives of RBI and other banking institutions.The Lead Bank Manager gave detailed information about the performance of the banks. It was informed that during the 1st quarter of financial year 2015-16, 38 percent target of the priority sector (Agriculture, MSEs, Education and Housing) amounting to Rs. 305.58 crore advances has been made so far, while as in non-priority sector, a target of 22.32 percent has been achieved.  Besides, the credit deposit ratio has increased to 65.50 percent against the national average of 60 percent.

District Development Commissioner apprised the participants that district plan is being reviewed and monitored regularly.  Besides, it was impressed upon all the officers to complete the sponsoring targets as given to each department and banks were asked to facilitate   hassle free credit.Besides, the line departments were directed to complete the sponsoring targets as given to them. Banks were called to play a facilitative and catalytic role. In this regard, a meeting shall be called in the last week of this month in which the Directors of various departments will also participate. Considering the lack of information as the main impediment in the way of availing the benefits under various government schemes, it was decided that the banks would create mass awareness through organisation of mass awareness camps across the district.
