Prof.Bhim Singh, Supremo of National Panthers Party and Member of National Integration Council today gave a call for a Dalit Prime Minister for a change to ensure the concept of ‘Samata’ (equality) among the people from all walks of life in the political arena so that the doctrine of equality before law is realized practically in the conclave and all sections of people the country feel equal. Prof.Bhim Singh was addressing a mammoth conclave of the Republican Party of India under the chairmanship of Shri Ramdas Athawale, M.P. who is also President of the RPI (Athawale) at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.      Thousands of RPI activists from almost all corners of the country were present.

Prof.Bhim Singh described Mr. Athawale as one of the foremost revolutionary leaders who has acceptability, goodwill and capability as a renowned Dalit leader all over the country. He said that the next Prime Minister in the country is going to be a Dalit because people in this country desired change as they did during the previous Lok Sabha elections. He said that the people of India are generous, visionary and are committed to the unity, integrity and oneness of the whole nation. They have been looking for a change and the change is going to be scientific which shall enjoy universal acceptability.Prof.Bhim Singh praised Baba Saheb Ambedkar, the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly who managed to insert ‘temporary’ with Article 370 of Constitution of India in spite of bitter opposition by National Conference Members including Sheikh Abdullah who wanted to give 370 a permanent feature and a total independent Constitution for J&K. He reminded that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar made it clear on record of the Constituent Assembly that Article 370 was temporary face and shall not operate after the end of Monarchy in the state. He said Monarchy was abolished by a resolution of State Constituent Assembly under the leadership of Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah himself on 20th August, 1952. He said that nation needs courageous and visionary leaders like Baba Saheb Ambedkar to declare that Article 370 has gone infructuous after the end of Monarchy in the state.

He suggest that initiative should be taken to formulate a kind of confederal political outfit comprising small regional groups and parties as the regional parties represent the real aspirations of the people they belong to. Such kind of confederal party can be a great experiment which will strengthen secular character of the nation and involve each region in the process of development and finally peaceful co-existence among the regions from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Manipur to Dwarka. Earlier, Prof.Bhim Singh was honoured by the organizers. Mr. Ramdas Athawale described Prof.Bhim Singh as a great champion of the rights of the poor, downtrodden and the dalits from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
