Employees in government offices were not adopting IT or IT-enabled services because of their fear that when all work is done through IT, they will have no jobs, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Monday.Khattar was speaking at the inauguration of a state-level workshop on 'e-governance' organised at the Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) in Gurgaon.IAS, IPS, IFS, HCS officers, district revenue officers, tehsildars and naib tehsildars participated in the one-day workshop.Khattar said employees in government offices hesitate to adopt IT services, fearing it would end their importance in the office as well as in public."But it is not so... rather your work will become easy and you will be able to do your duty more efficiently and deliver quickly," he said.Stressing implementation of e-governance in all government offices, he said there was no shortage of hardware and software, and only "mental barriers need to be crossed".Khattar asked officers to develop a system to ensure delivery of e-services to villagers in far-flung areas.
