Reaffirms Govt’s resolve of better infrastructure, quality education

Minister of State Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi today conducted surprise inspection of Government Central Basic School, Old hospital road and inspected infrastructure and other facilitates provided to the students at these schools.CEO, Jammu Joginder Kumar Sudan and other officers of the department accompanied the Minister during the visit.While inspecting infrastructure in the School, the Minister laid stress on improving facilities for the students and said that the School is one of the oldest institutes in the city and should have all the modern facilities so that more and more students get themselves enrolled in the school.

She said the school land and building should be developed at par with facilities available in private schools.“We are committed to address infrastructure requirements of schools and all out efforts are being made to ensure that government institutions become hub of quality education in the state,” she added.Stressing on improving results of the school, Priya said the government is steadfast on its resolve to ensure quality education in the government schools and the school progress would be judged by result of the students. She said teachers have to work hard and innovative techniques of teaching should be used for ensuring better results.

She said regular interactions should be held with parents so as to constantly monitor academic progress of the wards.The Minister said that better facilities should be provided to the students and focused attention needs to be given to all round development of the children, adding that studies and co-curricular activities should be given equal attention.She said counseling centers need to be established in the schools to guide students in selecting courses as per their performance and potentialities, adding that each child is unique and special care needs to be taken to identify the strong points so that the students are guided in accordance with the capabilities.She said in order to explore hidden potentials of the students the teacher has to play role of mother and each student needs to be handled with proper care and attention.
