Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura visited various areas of Chrar-e-Sharief constituency in district Budgam to take stock of development works. The areas visited by the Minister included Gundiwali, Gundi Rajab, Gundi Maqsood, Gundi Mohinoor and Kanir.During the visit, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him of their problems including construction of lanes, drains and protection bunds. He gave a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into on priority. In some cases, the Minister issued on-the-spot directions for immediate redress of public grievances.

Mr. Hanjura directed the officers of Roads and Buildings Department to conduct survey of Sogam Ranger-Runinad road and prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and submit the same to the concerned quarters so that the funds could be arranged for the purpose. He said it is a long pending demand and the Government is committed to connect all habitations by all-weather roads.The Minister also directed the concerned to prepare estimates for construction works of link roads and protection bunds in Gundiwali, Gundi Rajab, Gundi Maqsood, Gundi Mohinoor villages so that the work could be started on these projects immediately.

Later, the Minister addressed a large public meeting at Gundi Maqsood and said that the Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people. He said efforts are afoot to upgrade the living standards of the people especially weaker sections of the society adding that in this regard various welfare schemes have been launched under different sectors in the State.Responding the demand for replacement of old water pipes, the Minister said that these pipes would be replaced soon. He said Government is committed to provide adequate drinking water facilities to the consumers.
