In order to finalize the rent assessment cases of various departments, District Rent Assessment Committee (DRAC) meeting was today held at Baramulla with Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah in chair.The meeting was attended by SSP Baramulla, Superintending Engineers of Hydraulics, Joint Director Planning, District Social Welfare Officer and Officers from Defence, Labour, Treasury and other Departments. Owners of the concerned Private buildings were also present on the occasion.The rent assessment cases pertaining to Revenue, Animal Husbandry, Hydraulics, Treasury, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Defence, Labour and other departments were taken up during the meeting. As many as 16 cases were taken up for discussion, 12 cases were approved and 4 cases were kept pending.The rent assessment was done keeping in view all the applicable schedules and guidelines. Parameters like the age and type of the building, material used in the construction of the building, type of roof and the area in square feet of the building occupied and the date from which the building was occupied by the Government Office on rent were all taken into consideration during the rent assessment process.
