Punjab’s Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia has said that for providing more benefit to the beneficiaries of Shagan and Pension schemes, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Parkash Singh Badal would be making an important announcement soon.. Bikram Singh Majithia said this after distributing cheques for development works worth Rs 97 lakh in half dozen villages namely Athwal, Jijjeani, Rumana Chak, Tarpai and Nangal Pannwan. He also laid foundation stones of more than dozen development works in these villages.While speaking to media persons at village Nangal Pannwan, S. Bikram Singh Majithia said that Capt Amarinder’s so-called “Mission 2017” would meet with same fate as his failed “missions” in 2007 and 2012. Even during the 2012 Lok Sabha elections, which the Congress party fought under Rahul Gandhi, they were reduced to mere 44, which in itself is a record of sorts, he quipped.
Replying to a question related to PPCC President Partap Singh Bajwa’s self-proclaimed claim to Chief Ministerial Office, S. Bikram Singh Majithia quipped that Mr Bajwa had sought votes in the name of CM ship during the Lok Sabha elections, and lost with more than 1.5 lakh votes.While addressing a mammoth gathering on the occasion, S. Bikram Singh Majithia said that the main aim of Punjab government led by Sardar Parkash Singh Badal and Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal is strengthening communal harmony in the state. He said that it was only due to their development oriented policies that people voted for SAD-BJP in 2012. He said that his main aim is to develop Majithia constituency as a model constituency of the state. S. Majithia said that for making sure uninterrupted power supply in the constituency, special emphasis was given on constructing new power station. He said that due to increase in power consumption and population, three new thermal plants have been constructed with an investment of Rs 30,000 crore.
Majithia informed that with the grants distributed today, streets leading to villages, main markets, and houses of scheduled caste community would be constructed.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Major Shivi, Harvinder Singh Kotla, Babbi Bhangwa, Prof Sarchand Singh, Gagandeep Singh Bhakna, Prabhdyal Singh Nangal Pannwan, Harbans Singh Malhi, Tarun Abrol, Master Gurmeet Singh Athwal, Sarpanch Jhimman Singh, Sarpanch Hardeep Singh Romana Chak, Dharam Singh, Surjit Singh Jijjeani, Kanwal Singh, BDPO Zeenat Khaira, DSP Vishaljeet Singh, besides several others.
