Cop found dead under mysterious circumstances

A cop who was missing since Wednesday morning found dead under mysterious conditions in Mendhar area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

A police official told GNS that a constable Mohammad Alam Khan, a resident of Bhata Bhurain village of Gursai who went to graze domestic animals in the nearby forest area and did not return till late in the evening.Khan was posted at JKAP 8th bn in Ganderbal in central Kashmir and was at home on 10 days leave, he said.Today morning, the body of Khan was found by some locals under mysterious conditions in the forest area, the official said, adding that a police party was immediately rushed to the area after being informed about the incident who later recovered the body.“Initial investigations revealed the cop has been murdered as his body including head bore torture marks”, he said.“A case under 174 CrPc has been registered and further investigations have been taken up”, the official added.
