Heavy rains lash Delhi

Heavy rains lashed the national capital and its adjoining suburbs of Noida and Ghaziabad on Wednesday, causing waterlogging and traffic snarls at many places.In Delhi, showers occurred for the second consecutive day after a cloudy morning sky turned darkly overcast in the afternoon followed by thunder showers which brought welcome respite from the muggy weather. According to Delhi Police, traffic jams were reported at ITO and Connaught Place in central Delhi, Shadipur Depot in west Delhi and Dhaula Kuan, and Ashram in south Delhi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast showers to continue through the day."More rain is likely in the evening as well as tomorrow (Thursday)," the IMD official said.Wednesday's minimum temperature was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius while the maximum was likely to hover around 36 degrees Celsius.
