The government on Wednesday said the setting up of the Andhra Pradesh high court can take place only when infrastructure was made available by the state government."The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act provides that a new high court for Andhra Pradesh will be set up and the existing one will be for Telangana," Law Minister Sadanand Gowda informed the Lok Sabha."To enable this, necessary infrastructure such as buildings and other things need to be created. This is the primary responsibility of the state government along with the Andhra Pradesh high court," he said.

Gowda said: "Once this happens, the central government will take necessary steps for the creation of a separate high court."Reponding to this, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) parliamentarian A.P. Jithender Reddy said the law minister had said nothing new."The central government can take immediate decision on this," he said. The TRS has been pressing for a separate high court for Telangana since the beginning of the monsoon session.
