Police recover 106 steel bundles from forest official

Police on Sunday recovered 106 bundles of steel wire worth lakhs of rupees from the house of a forest official here in Papchan area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district.After receiving special information Bandipora police on Sunday morning raided house of one Qayoom Shah, an official in Forest Range office of Ajas and recovered 106 bundles of steel wire usually used in fencing of forest area.“The wire has been illegal dumped by concerned forest officer from last four years to be later sold in black market”, a police official said.Meanwhile people in area have demand stern action against those forest officers who were working in area for last three years. They said in last four years there are reports of huge embezzlements which need to be inquired.

"In last four years, many officers working in the Ajas range, resorted to plunder and today’s incident is a tip of an iceberg," said, an agitated local.Reliable sources said that an officer who dumped wire illegally called police to remove his successor as later officer stands attached from last one year.They said that there was need to investigate the matter without ‘bias’ in order to save the public property.Meanwhile, a senior police officer told GNS that the recovered bundles of wire have been dumped by officials from last few years."We have recovered 106 bundles of wire illegal dumped in house of a first official usually dumped from last few years," the officer said.“We have initiated investigation in to the matter" He said.GNS)
