Taking a serious note of supplying contaminated water to village Guywa of Tehsil Pattan, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah has ordered an enquiry into the circumstances that have led to the outbreak of gastroenteritis disease in the village.Sub Divisional Magistrate Pattan has been appointed as Enquiry Officer, who has been asked to conduct the enquiry and fix responsibility for the same and furnish report within one week.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, who is himself monitoring the treatment of the affected villagers, has asked Chief Medical Officer Baramulla to camp at Pattan.The Deputy Commissioner said that till date 62 patients of the village have been provided treatment at Sub District Hospital Pattan.  He said that a medical team is also working in the village since yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner today inspected District Hospital Baramulla to review the pace of work in the Hospital. The Deputy Commissioner inspected the residential Block of the Hospital. He was told that 06 residential flats of Doctors have already been completed whereas 06 more shall be completed by August 31, 2015. He was also informed that 12 residential flats for Paramedical staff shall be completed within 03 months.Later, the Deputy Commissioner took a meeting which was attended among others by Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, DGM JKPCC, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Baramulla and Engineers of PHE and PDD.The Deputy Commissioner asked the Engineers of JKPCC to prioritize the works which are required immediately in consultation with Medical Superintendent and take up the same at the earliest. He also asked the JKPCC to expedite the completion of OT Block and also install street lights in the Hospital, besides developing a parking area near the Casualty. He also ordered immediate repairs of the fencing of the Hospital to ensure hassle free medical facilities to the patients.
