The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that the people should remember the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) by following the teachings of the Imam who sacrificed everything for the sake of Islam.The Minister was speaking after inaugurating a Medical Camp organized by the Chief Medical Officer, Srinagar in association with JLNM Hospital, Rainawari Srinagar in connection with Youm-e-Ashura.He said that Youm-e-Ashura is being observed today with reverence and religious fervour throughout the country to pay tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions for their supreme sacrifices. He said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) laid his life alongwith his 72 companions at Karbala to uphold the truth and we should remember the supreme sacrifice by following the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and Islam.
Sagar said that the teachings of Islam are more relevant in today’s context as they preach truth, abhorrence from falsehood and material pursuits. He urged Muslims to learn from the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and Ahle Bait (pure family of the Prophet PBUH) and continue to struggle for higher values and triumph of goodness over evil. The incident of Karbala is remembered as an historical event which established the lasting example of rendering sacrifice for upholding truth and principles, he added.People of all walks attended the Medical Camp and got free medical advice, check up and medicines.
