Saifullah reviews stock and supply position in Kup

The Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah convened a meeting of district administration today to review the ongoing developmental works and stock and supply position besides snow preparedness in the border district Kupwara.The Minister was informed that adequate supplies of essentials have been stocked in all border areas of the district including Karnah, Keran and Machil. He was told that 28500 quintal of rice, 13250 quintal of flour, 14710 quintal of sugar and 96000 litres of K-Oil has been stocked in the CA&PD godowns of the district.Reviewing the ongoing developmental projects, the Minister was informed that under MGNREGA scheme, Rs. 22 crore have been expended on various rural developmental works in the district providing 7 lakh mandays work. He was told 82000 job cards have also been provided to the local unemployed youth.The meeting was also informed that under education sector that text books worth Rs. 43.50 lakh were provided to the students free of cost.The Minister was also informed that to augment power supply in the district, Rs. 1.84 crore are being expended from CDF.The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and other seniors of the district administration.The Minister directed the District Development Commissioner to ensure punctuality in government offices and initiate disciplinary action the absentees. He also asked the local administration to ensure completion of developmental projects within the targeted time frame.
