Nullifying the reports of having any grudges against the Pakistani establishment, senior separatist leader and Huriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani said Pakistan has always stood on a forefront in pitching for Kashmir’s freedom.According to KNS correspondent, while speaking on the sidelines of the seminar held at his residence here, titled ‘JK a single geographical entity’, Geelani said he  and his amalgam are not indeed disgruntled against the  Pakistan government but were hurt when Kashmir was skipped during the Indo- Pak talks held in the recent past in Russia.  “We do not have any anger against Pakistan but were hurt when any negligence about Kashmir is exhibited on any international podium. We have to show resentment every time such an approach is adopted,’ remarked the Huriyat (G) chief who didn’t attend the recent Eid Millan held by Pak embassy in New Delhi. Geelani’s Huriyat at that time remarked that due to not mentioning Kashmir at UFA, it has decided not to accept the invite.

Terming the Bombay blast convict Yaqoob Memon a ‘victim’, for being a member of the minority community in India, Geelani said on Wednesday that voices within India are being raised, questioning the legality of sending Memon to gallows.Geelani said partial approach and communal mindset in condemnable and he opposes the manner in which trail for Memon is being held in New Delhi. “There are voices of concern being heard from various corners of India that Memon is being sent to gallows only because he is Muslim and that communal mindset is ruling the roost within India. As far as we are concerned, we condemn and resist such majors in which a person is being victimized only because he hails from a minority community,” Geelani said.

Substantiating his claim, the huriyat hawk maintained that when Afzal Guru was hanged, the court in clear terms stated that he is being executed to satisfy the collective conscience of the people of country. “Such is the partial approach which is being adopted India. It goes contrary to our principal stand as we consider humans.” (KNS)
