A two day NAAC sponsored National Seminar was organized by Govt. M.A.M. College on 12-13 November, 2013. Jb.Feroz Ahmed Khan, Hon’ble Minister of State for Information Technology, Additional charge of School Education, Science & Technology, Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports was the Chief Guest for the Inaugural ceremony while Prof.Z.A.Chat, Principal, Govt. Degree College, Anantnag was the Key Note Speaker for the Two Day NAAC Seminar. The theme of the Seminar is “Enhancing Quality in Higher Education: A Paradigm shift towards global consciousness”.The programme commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.Prof.Z.A.Chat while delivering the Key Note address emphasized on the need for generating employability in Higher Education Sector. He reiterated that the system has to undergo a sea-change to keep insync with the contemporary Global trends and to survive in this indigenous system so that our institutions are at par with the global ones. Dr.Twinkle Suri, the organizing Secretary of the Two Day NAAC Sponsored Seminar deliberated on the themes of the seminar and highlighted the aim and objectives of organizing a National Seminar.
Dr.Ramesh Chander, Principal of the College welcomed the guests and stressed the need for organizing such Seminars in order to strengthen and identify the benchmarks in Higher Education.
The Chief Guest Jb.Feroz Ahmed Khan stressed that quality education was the need of the hour and it was imperative to strengthen the Quality Parameter in the Education System to ensure a better future for the young learners of the State. Prof.Asha Gupta, Principal, GDC Akhnoor, Prof.Zaheer Abbas, Principal, GDC, Doda, Prof. Ranjeet Kalra, Asstt. Director Academic Staff College, Prof.Monica Sharma, Jallandar, Prof.Sunil Khosla, Principal, B.B.College Punjab University and Prof.Ashu Pasricha from Punjab University, Chandigarh were also present on the occasion. The Seminar was attended by a galaxy of academicians from various colleges of the State and outside.Prof.Shalini Sharma compered the proceedings of the Seminar while Dr.Twinkle Suri delivered the formal vote of thanks.
