Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik Friday said RSS backed conspiracies against Jammu Muslims will never succeed.“The concern and anger shown by Kashmiri Muslims in this regard is genuine. JKLF has decided to support the strike call given by various trade bodies and chambers in this regard and we appeal people of Kashmir to stand up for Jammu Muslims and observe a total shutdown on Saturday,” Malik said while condemning the recent desecration of holy Kalma by RSS supporters in Jammu and hurting the sentiments of Muslims.Terming the ongoing oppression as an attempt to harass Jammu Muslims, he said, “Attempts to frighten Jammu Muslims at the behest of RSS are a conspiracy and this communal scheme is being backed up and supported by all pro–India parties and leaders of Jammu Kashmir including PDP, NC, Congress, Communists etc who have all along maintained criminal silence over these attempts.”
“This criminal silence and silent support is actually like facilitating the ethnic cleansing of Jammu Muslims and an attempt to repeat 1947. Muslims of Kashmir will not remain silent spectators over this alarming situation and we will do everything possible to safeguard the rights and lives of Jammu Muslims. After the establishment of present PDP/BJP rule, Jammu Muslims are being targeted and terrorized and in a systematic manner and an atmosphere of fear is being created among them,” Malik alleged.
“Rulers at the behest of RSS are trying to recreate and repeat 1947 and by displacing Muslims from Jammu belt are actually engaged in fulfilling RSS agenda of demography change in Jammu region. These incidents of desecrating Islamic symbols, hurting sentiments of Muslims, displacing them from their homes in the name of forest land, and creating fear among Muslims in Chenab area by deploying Hindu officers in place of Muslim officers is not tolerable and growing anger among Kashmiris over this and concern shows genuine and legitimate,” the JKLF chairman added.He claimed that 1947 like situation is being created throughout Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Baderwah and Rambhan areas and “rulers want to displace Muslims from these areas so that is becomes easy for them to settle down RSS agents and workers from outside state in these areas.”“Separating Jammu Kashmir on communal lines is old agenda of RSS and so called Jammu Kashmir government by following policies like these are actually fulfilling this condemnable agenda. Kashmiri will not watch atrocities on Jammu Muslims silently and will do everything possible to safeguard the interests of Jammu Muslims,” Malik said.
He added that India claims to be the biggest democracy of the world “but its rulers are engaged in conspiracies to divide people of Jammu and Kashmir on communal lines and is thus harm the centuries-old brotherhood and religious harmony of Kashmiris and these nefarious designs are being fulfilled with the help of pro-India Kashmiri politicians and parties.”
“Kashmiris will resist all such designs with full force and zeal. Concern shown by various trade bodies and chambers of Kashmir over the Rajouri incident and other continuous developments in Jammu are genuine and timely and JKLF has decided to extend its full support to the strike and shut down call given by these trade bodies and chambers,” Malik said.
He appealed people of Kashmir to stand united for their Jammu brethren and observe a complete and comprehensive shutdown on Saturday. “Our peaceful and complete protest shutdown should send a message to all communal forces and rulers that their conspiracies to terrorize Muslims will never succeed,” the JKLF chairman added.
