Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting of District Officers and Security Agencies to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Independence day-2015.Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police, Commandant 11th BN IRP Anantnag, Commandant 40th, 96th & 90th BN CRPF, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer of PHE, PDD, PWD, R&B, Chief Medical Officer, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Principals of Government Colleges, Schools and heads of private institutions were present in the meeting.It was given out in the meeting that the celebration will start with the playing of Shahnai Wadan by District Information Centre Anantnag in the wee hours of the day. The main function will be held in the premises of Govt. Degree College (Boys) Anantnag where the VIP would unfurl the National flag and take salute from the ceremonial parade comprising the contingents of J&K Police, Armed Police, Auxiliary Police, CRPF, Lady Police, NCC cadets and School Children followed by cultural programmes by different cultural groups and school children. Threadbare discussions were also held regarding arrangements of barricading, seating, security and traffic regulation, drinking water, power supply, sanitation, first aid, PAS, deployment of buses and fire tenders also. It was also decided in the meeting that similar functions will also be held at Tehsil Headquarters with full participation of Tehsil functionaries. Deputy Commissioner urged upon all the concerned officers to work with close co-ordination and dedication.
