I-Day arrangements reviewed at Pulwama, Shopian, Ganderbal

In connection with ensuing Independence Day, a high level meeting of officers was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Niraj Kumar. Threadbare discussions were held on various issues for smooth conduct of Independence Day.The meeting was informed that the main function would be held at District Police Lines Pulwama where chief guest will unfurl the Tricolour and take salute at the march past.Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, Home Guard, NCC, CRPF, FPF, Army and school children of various educational institutions will participate in the march past on the occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers to keep coordination in order to make the function successful and directed the concerned authorities for ensuring all arrangements well in advance besides cleanliness in and around the district. The PDD was also asked to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity. He also directed PHE department to make arrangements for drinking water supply.Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, SSP, besides senior officers of various departments were also present in the meeting.

Meanwhile at Shopian, arrangements for celebration of Independence Day, 2015 were reviewed at officers meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Shopian Mr. G. M. Dar. The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium Shopian. The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the officers to make arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day well in time.Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of R&B, PHE, PDD, Municipality, Information and Police to make necessary arrangements at sports stadium Shopian. The Superintendent of Police, Shopian was impressed upon to make adequate security arrangements on the occasion. The officers of school education, youth services and sports departments were enjoined to prepare students for presenting various cultural and others activities.

The meeting was informed that the contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, NCC and the students of different schools will participate in the march past on the occasion. A full dress rehearsal will be held on August 13, 2015.Meanwhile, a similar meeting was held at Ganderbal with Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Showkat Aijaz in chair.The meeting decided to organize the main function in Mader-e-Meharban Stadium, where the chief guest will unfurl the tricolour and take salute on the march past contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, Forest Protection Force, CRPF as well as contingents of various Educational Institutions.

The meeting was told that Departments of Education, Information and Youth Services & Sports will jointly arrange the cultural programmes of different nature on the occasion.PDD authorities were asked to illuminate important Government buildings as well as the Duderhama Bridge on the said occasion.Fire and Emergency Services department was asked to ensure availability of fire tenders to meet any eventuality, besides the Health authorities were instructed for providing ambulance and other medicare facilities on the said occasion. Mr. Showkat stressed upon all the officers to put in place all the arrangements well in time for the smooth celebration of Independence Day.
