The arrangements for celebration of Independence Day were discussed at a meeting of senior functionaries of line departments here with the Deputy Commissioner, Doda Mr. Bhupinder kumar in the chair.Senior superintendent of Police, Mr Z.N Manhas, besides other District and Sectoral officers attended the meeting. The meeting decided to organize the main function in Sports Stadium, where the chief guest will unfurl the tricolour and take salute at the March Past. It was also decided that a colourful cultural programme will be presented by the School Children on the occasion.
After a thorough discussion, the meeting took necessary decisions with regard to the arrangements for security, drinking water, power supply at the venue of the function, besides cleanliness and sanitation of the town and venue, barricading of the venue and seating arrangement was also discussed.It was also decided that the function will start with the Shehnai Vadan by the District Information Centre Doda. The DC impressed all the officers to put in place all the arrangements well in time for smooth celebration of the Independence Day and directed CEO Doda to ensure maximum participation of Government Schools in the celebrations.
