With an aim to introduce the faces of party workers including zonal presidents, party’s office bearer’s district presidents and senior leaders Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) held Eid Milan here, on Thursday.The senior leaders termed the Eid Milan as an introductory meeting of party workers in Kashmir with Ministers, so that a formal interaction takes place between the workers, leaders and ministers.Deputy Chief Minister and BJP senior leader, Dr Nirmal Singh on the occasion said that the party will work as per the expectations of the people and hoped that the workers would act to bridge to gap between the people and BJP ministers, so that an effective fed back is obtained about the policies and programmes of the party .
“The meeting the first of its kind in the valley after the Darbar move would go al long way In ensuring that the leaders and workers get to meet so that an effective feedback is obtained about the ground situation and also about policies, programmes of the party as well as the political situation in the valley” Dr, Singh maintained and expressed hope that the meeting would go a long way in strengthening the roots of the party in this part of the state which has traditionally been the bastion of certain regional parties .
Dr Singh informed the workers that present coalition government was doing well and it will continue to do so for the betterment of people here. “We have already discussed in agenda of alliance that the main emphasis would be development, transparency and people friendly governance.Dy CM, however, said that Pakistan doesn’t wish that democracy should work in the state after massive voter turnout in last year Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections, and they are in continuous process to thwart the peaceful environs. But we would not let them succeed in their nefarious designs and a befitting reply would be given to the anti national elements, he added. Dy CM also said that the state government has sent financial proposal to the Central government and he was hopeful to get huge package which would create history in terms of the funds as well as development which would ensue.
“The whole of the state would witness un precedented development in every sphere of life “he added.Referring to the issue of AIIMS , Dr Singh assured that the premier institute would be constructed both in Jammu as well as Kashmir divisions to cater to the demands of the people.Meanwhile, Dr Singh said that the country was ready to reply cease fire violation by its neighboring country- Pakistan.On increasing local militants- particularly in South Kashmir, Dy CM said that these youth think that joining militancy is an ideology and there would be ups and downs in it.Present on the occasion were cabinet minister for industries Chander Prakesh Ganga, Transport Minister AG kohli, Priya Sethi MOS Education Culture, MLC and incharge Kashmir affairs Ramesh Arora, MLA’s Shakti Parihar, RS Pathnia, MLC Charanjeet singh Khalsa, MLC Surander Amradar, , State vice president GM MIR, State secretary Dr Darakshan Andarabi, Mumata Sing, spokes person Khalid Jehangir, Media Incharge Kashmir Altaf Thakur, Zonal Presidents Centre Kashmir Dr Ali Mohammad Mir, South Kashmir president Ghulam Nabi Dar, North Kashmir President D.K Nehru and others.
