Refuting the allegations regarding preferential treatment to any city/constituency of the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that the SAD-BJP alliance government was sincerely working to ensure overall development and growth in every nook and corner of the state without any prejudice or regional disparity.Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat darshan program in Jandiala Guru Assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that he had devoted his entire life to serve the state with the sole aim of ensuring its overall development and prosperity of its people. He said that it was wrong to categorize any city/town or constituency as VIP because their government was committed for development of entire state. Mr. Badal said that it was on record concerted efforts have made by the state government to ensure holistic development of the state. “Allegations regarding special treatment were totally baseless as we have already embarked a special scheme to ensure that every town of the state was equipped with state-of-the-art basic amenities to give facelift to the state”, he added.

The Chief Minister categorically said that the Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Navjot Kaur Sidhu was like his daughter and he would personally ensure the early resolution of all the issues raised by her. He said that the elected MLAs of the state irrespective of any party were important for him because he always hold these public representatives in high esteem. Mr. Badal said that he was the most accessible person in the state and every person could meet him with ease adding that the sole motive of holding Sangat Darshan in every corner of the state was to ensure that no person faces any problem in meeting him.

Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that the pictures pasted on Ambulances didn’t affect the delivery of quality health services to the people. Mr. Badal said that his picture was hardly any issue and the state government would take an appropriate call in this regard after due deliberations. “I hardly have any fad for pasting my pictures on the Ambulances but actually the Health department has pasted it”, he added.

The Chief Minister further said that in a short span of NDA’s rule, Punjab has been immensely benefitted from it. He said that the Union government has given several key projects to the state, which would be instrumental in putting the state further on high growth trajectory. He hailed the NDA government for allocating prestigious projects like All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Post Graduate Horticulture Research and Educational Institute.Earlier addressing the gatherings during Sangat Darshan in village Meharbanpura and Bhaarad besides the Jandiala Guru city, the Chief Minister slammed the former Congress Chief Ministers for completely ignoring the interest of the state and its people. He said that it was a stark reality that most of the Congress Chief Ministers have spent their tenure of office in merriment rather than serving the people.

Badal categorically said that none of the Congress Chief Ministers have ever bothered to visit the villages in the state due to which they were absolutely unaware about the woes faced by the populace living in these areas. On the other hand, he said that the SAD-BJP government has started a flagship program of Sangat Darshan to redress the grievances of the people in a time bound manner. Mr. Badal said it was a unique program that was being carried only in the state with the sole motive of ensuring the overall development of the state and welfare of its people. The Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Mr. Baljeet Singh Jalaal Usma, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. Ajoy Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ravi Bhagat, Inspector General of Police Mr. Ishwar Chander, Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. AK Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mr. Jasdeep Singh.
