Q.1. How you started your Carrer in Glamour Industry?
I started my career with theatre when I was in college. I always wanted to be an actor so I came to Mumbai and started with Theatre again and I got few offers of modeling. I also got offers down south so I did Two Tamil films and last year the Calendar Girls happened.
Q.2. How is the Journey in the shoot of Calendar Girls?
The entire journey of Shooting Calendar Girls was so much fun. Starting from our workshop days we enjoyed each and every day of shoot. And specially the Mauritius schedule, it was the most memorable journey and just like a picnic.
Q.3 Can you tell about Production House and the Director ?
Our Production house is Mangal Murti films which belongs to Mrs. Sangeeta Ahir. She is the best producer to work with. She is a dynamic and strong lady. Being a female she took this challenge of producing a female centric film Calendar Girls, and she has set the perfect example of Women empowerment thru this. And Ofcourse our director Mr Madhur Bhandarkar is a gem of a person. He is so down to earth and Humble that success never become a baggage for him. He is at his best while working with new comers. I came to learn lot many things while working with him. And I am proud to be called His discovery.
Q,4 . Can You tell your experience in South Industry , as Actress ?
Working down south is amazing. Because the people give you so much love and respect which makes you feel like working there more and more. In south people are more punctual and grounded then Bollywood.
Q.5 Whether Your Film “ Calender Girls” is message Oriented or Women Oriented film?
Calendar Girls is a woman oriented film with a strong social message in it. Every Girl who wants to be a part of this Glamour world, must watch this film. And specially with their parents and family which will guide you with the reality of SHOW BUSINESS.
Q.6 . In normal Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie like Fashion and Heroine . The Film ends with a Tragedy. Is it same in “ Calendar Girls “?
well there are five journeys in the film so yes there are ups and downs in their stories. But you must wait for the release to know about what happens at the end.
Q.7 There are 5 actress in the movie , how you feel that that film space is divided within five Actress. How you feel about it ?
The film has been written so beautifully that none of us was insecure about our screen space. I exactly knew about my character and the number of scenes I had to shoot. and when u have some like Mr Bhandarkar leading you then u just have to trust him completely.
Q.8 . Avaniji , Whether this movie do not have “ Hero” or “ Male Characters “ are been potrait as “ Negative Shade” Character. Do you have any “ Hero or Male Character “ in the film ?
Calendar Girls doesn't have any HERO as a lead but it has lot many MALE characters in the film which are the part of the story. No body plays positive or negative in the film. It's a situation driven film.
Q.9 Kindly tell your Hobbies
My hobbies are reading books. I love to read lot many books like novels, philosophy and Autobiographies. It gives me inspiration. I also write poetry some time. And I love to watch movies a lot.I am very foodie. So love to experiment in food also wherever I travel.
