Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda today convened a meeting with prominent citizens of district samba and discussed several issues related to the development and welfare of common masses.The prominent citizens projected their demands before the Deputy Commissioner, mostly related to upgradation of power, water supply, electricity, roads which have suffered damages due to heavy rains and floods. They also raised the demand for activation of Village Defense Committees (VDCs) in border areas, ,installation of traffic signals at Main Chowk Samba, shifting of bus stand ,regular market checking besides various other issues of public welfare.The Deputy Commissioner gave patient hearing to the demands raised by the prominent citizens and passed necessary directions to the officers of PHE and PDD departments to redress the problems on priority. She also directed the officers of Flood Control department to take immediate preventive measures to avoid loss to life and property during floods. She assured the participants that all genuine issues raised in the meeting will be addressed on priority.All district officers were present in the meeting.
