To generate awareness about ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao Abhiyan’, Minister of State for Education, Information, and Culture Priya Sethi today released a poster on ‘Save the Girl Child’ at a function held here.The function was organised under the aegis of Sampark Economic Development Society, which is engaged in spreading awareness among the masses on the topic of ‘Save the Girl Child’.Senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi was also present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said special focus has been laid on girl child education and a campaign has been launched to check the menace of female foeticide. She said strict measures have been taken by the government to ensure complete ban on female foeticide in the state.“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a nationwide campaign - Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign to save and promote the girl child,” she added.
Appreciating the efforts of the Sampark Economic Society, Yudhvir Sethi said that the time has come when we all have to make collective efforts to save and promote the girl child and launch a massive campaign against the female foeticide, which is a great crime.“Let’s join hands to strengthen the movement launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ensure that girl child gets her due in society,” he appealed.Office bearers of the society who attended the event included, President Nisha Verma, Senior Member Neelam Gupta and others. Several prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
