A shootout on Wednesday on the busy Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road by rival gangs was like a live stunt often seen in Bollywood movies, a witness said.A Gurgaon gangster escaped a bid on his life, but an auto-rickshaw driver died in the incident.Sumit Kumar, a 30-year-old resident of Gurgaon and an executive at a private firm, told IANS that the shootout to kill gangster Rakesh Yadav "was a live stunt I saw in my life which usually I see in Bollywood movies"."At that time, I was heading towards my office when a black Santro was chasing a white Hyundai SUV. The person riding in the Santro suddenly started firing at the SUV, which jumped the road divider and fell on the auto-rickshaw," he said.Safi, an executive at a medicine manufacturing company in Gurgaon, said the whole incident was "horrifying".

Kumar Hari Om, a 25-year-old, told IANS that there was a rumour that at least four people were killed in the shootout.A police officer told IANS the attack seemed to be "fully planned", and the assailants choose the spot possibly with the knowledge that the area was not covered under CCTV cameras.Police said three different sophisticated weapons were used in the shootout. The auto-rickshaw driver, who was injured in the shootout, succumbed to injuries at a hospital. He was yet to be identified. The condition of the driver of gangster Rakesh Yadav was critical, as he had received a gunshot in his head.Police team were conducting raids in Ghaziabad and Noida, as the Santro car with the assailants had a Uttar Pradesh registration number plate.Yadav, who has over one dozen criminal cases registered against him, is the main accused in the killing of Hayatpur sarpanch (village head) Rakesh Kumar Yadav.Sarpanch Yadav was shot dead in his village by alleged contract killers in 2011. A mob later lynched one of the alleged killers on the spot.
