Over 2 lakh Yatris pay obeisance at Amarnath Cave

Over 2 lakh devotees paid obeisance at the Holy Cave during ongoing annual pilgrimage of Shri Amaranth Yatra which commenced on July 2nd. CEO, Shrine Board, informed that while the Yatra was interrupted for 2 days because of the blockage of the National Highway and incessant rains it has since been proceeding smoothly from both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.  For the intending Yatris, who reach the State without obtaining advance registration the Shrine Board has established On-Spot Registration facilities in Jammu at Vaishnavi Dham / Saraswati Dham; Jammu Haat and Geeta Bhawan / Ram Mandir ( for Sadhus only) and in Srinagar at TRC, Nowgam. 

According to a statement issued to GNS, the Yatris are being provided all kind of required assistance, including stationing of Doctors for issuing Compulsory Health Certificates at the On-Spot Registration Counters.  The Shrine Board distributes literature (pamphlets) which contains the “Dos and Don’ts” for the guidance of the Yatris.  CEO informed that 2, 03,565 pilgrims had paid obeisance at the Holy Cave till 15th July evening.   (GNS)
