Srinagar , 13 Jul 2015

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik Monday said July 13 is a glorious day of history.“This was on the day when Kashmiris raised their voices against illegal occupation, oppressive regime and tyranny and dozens of Kashmiris endured bullets on their chests but refused to bow their heads before the forces of falsehood. Present struggle is actually the continuance of the struggle started in 1931 and so are the oppressive forces of both times same,” Malik said in a statement to KNS.Malik, who is under house arrest from July 11 termed the 1931 martyrs as symbols of freedom and courage, “Today we are remembering those martyrs who about a century ago showed courage to stand against tyranny and oppression and endured bullets on their chests but refused to bow before tyranny and illegal occupation. Present people’s revolution started in 1988 is actually a continuation of the struggle started in 1931. Same struggle is going on today as was in 1931 and same tyrannical and oppressive forces in the form of so-called rulers and other pro-India parties and leaders  stand against the people’s struggle even today,” he said.

“It is ironical that rulers and other pro-India forces despite being agents and part and parcel of oppressors celebrate martyr’s day and shower flowers on the graves of these martyrs. These people have no shame as they are oppressing people in resistance day in and day out. Today arrests, restrictions, curfew, house arrests and other massive oppressive measures to curb a joint program of all resistance parties has proved beyond any doubt that these so called rulers don’t believe in any democratic value. The day from which PDP and RSS rule has started in Jammu Kashmir; a blanket ban has been put on the resistance camp. Nobody is allowed to meet people and even ban on movement has been imposed. Arrest, restrictions, curfew politics has become the order of the day and rulers have actually broken all the previous records of oppression,” he alleged.

“If Mufti Sayeed and his government have decided to use oppressive measures and choke all the political space why he is practicing hypocritical politics. Instead of practicing this double faced politics why doesn’t he arrest all the resistance leadership and activists and put them in jail? Tyranny and oppression was not able to suppress struggle in 1931 and oppression and suppression and tyranny will also fail to defeat  present freedom struggle as is it the law of nature that oppressors and oppression get erased and oppressed have the last laugh,” the JKLF chairman added.Meanwhile, JKLF district President Syed Nisar Jeelani along with Molvi Reyaz participated in a condolence meeting held at Mazar I Shuhada Sopore today in connection with the martyrdom day of 1931 martyrs. Jeelani and others addressed the meeting and paid rich tributes to martyrs.
