Strongly condemning the house arrest of Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq the spokesman of the conglomerate said that the action of authorities to restrict the religious, political and social activities of Mirwaiz by placing him under house arrest was highly undemocratic and cruel.In a statement to KNS he said, “By imposing restrictions on Mirwaiz in this holy month of Ramadaan and stopping him from joining the Youm-e-Shohda program on July 13th, the authorities have exhibited worst form of state sponsored terrorism. The aggressive actions of government is a clear cut indication that it was fearful of joint program announced by pro-freedom leadership to observe the July 13 martyrs day.”
The spokesman also condemned the raids on residences of Hurriyat (M) leaders Er. Hilal Ahmad War and Javaid Ahmad Mir, adding, such acts were revengeful and “dictatorial and would never weaken the spirit of pro-freedom leadership from pursuing the cause of freedom.”He said that the joint program announced by the pro-freedom leadership would go along as announced, adding, the pro-freedom leadership would offer Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid and would later jointly lead a procession to Naqashbandh Sahab to pay tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931.
