Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik Friday said that issues and conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue institution.“But the way this process has been turned as futile and non–serious in case of Jammu Kashmir issue has created doubts in the minds of common people and people of Jammu Kashmir have lost faith in this institution. Joint declaration issued after bilateral meeting of Indian and Pakistani prime ministers today has disappointed Kashmiris. International community instead of playing fire fighters role should play a constructive role in this regard,” Malik said while deliberating upon today’s meeting between Indian Prime Minister Nerendra Modi and Pakistani premier Nawaz Shareef in Russia and a joint declaration issued after the meeting which had no mention of Kashmir issue.

While commenting upon the recent meeting between Indian and Pakistani leadership, Malik said, “War cannot solve problems and it is only dialogue institution that resolves conflicts and issues, but for the success of dialogue it is equally important to have seriousness and focus on conflict resolution. Dialogue should not be for fun, time pass and putting real issues to the back burner.”

“Kashmiris are not against peace and progress between Indian and Pakistan. We want these two countries to get together and resolve their issues but at the same time Indian and Pakistani leadership will have to also demonstrate some magnanimity regarding Kashmiris. The two countries cannot prosper and progress while keeping the entire Kashmiri nation as hostage for their petty gains,” Malik said.“India and Pakistan have held several round of talks from last 68 years but have failed to make any progress especially on Kashmir. This non-seriousness and Inconclusive attitude is responsible for disaster of Kashmiri nation which has lost its three generations during last six decades. This attitude of time pass and putting serious issues to back burner will further ignite the situation and Indian and Pakistani leaders should know that without resolving Jammu Kashmir issue the dreams of peaceful and progressive south Asia will never come true,” the JKLF chairman said.

“If India, Pakistan and the international community are serious about peaceful south Asia, they will have to accept Kashmiris as principle party to the dispute include them in dialogue process and find a lasting solution to the Jammu Kashmir dispute,” he added..Meanwhile, a spokesman of the party said JKLF led by its vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt today protested against ignoring Kashmir issue at Jenab sahib Soura Srinagar.“JKLF leaders Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Sheikh Khalid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri Showkat Ahmad Dar and others also were present along with a large number of people. Participants of the protest rally raised slogans in favor of freedom, martyrs and resistance. People also condemned ignoring Kashmir issue in joint declaration between India and Pakistan that was issued just after the meeting between Indian and Pakistani prime ministers,” he said.

While speaking on the occasion Bashir Butt said that today India and Pakistan are talking while ignoring the core issue of Kashmir. “They want to proceed towards peace and progress but how can peace be achieved without solving issues that are actually detrimental to it. Kashmir is not a border issue between India and Pakistan, it is the issue related to the future of a living nation called Kashmir. Kashmiris have their own 5000 year old civilization and we have rendered valuable sacrifices for our freedom and no one can ignore or bypass us for his pity interests,” Butt said.Meanwhile, Malik has expressed his grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Kashmiri leader Sardar Abdul Qayoom who breathed his last today in PaK.

While terming Sardar Qayoom as a tall leader, intelligent politicians and good human being, Malik said, “His replacement will be hard to find.”Paying tributes to Sardar sahib Marhoom, Malik said, “He till his last remained wedded to the Kashmir cause and today when he has left for heavenly abode, we express solidarity with his bereaved family.”
