Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday hit out at National Conference for raising hue and cry over the Health Minister Chaudary Lal Singh inspecting the G B Pant hospital here.In a statement to KNS, the BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir said: “People who are raising hue and cry over Lal Singh not wearing a mask and an apron are responsible for the deaths of more than 3000 neonates. “Jehangir said, “It seems memory of the NC leaders is short lived. It was during their tenure that G B Pant hospital turned into a most dreaded place in Kashmir. The hands of NC leaders are smeared with the blood of the neonates who died due to the lackadaisical attitude of the previous regime.”

The BJP spokesman said the pro-people initiatives of the present regime and ministers leaving no stone unturned to reach out to the people have frustrated the opposition National Conference. “The Health Minister’s pro-active approach and his determination to improve the health sector in Jammu and Kashmir have left his opponents red faced. They are raking non-issues to divert the attention of the people from their failures as when they (NC) was in power it couldn’t do anything for the people of the state,” Jehangir added.     He said that when Omar Abdullah was the Chief Minister he had announced that one more Children hospital would be set up in Srinagar to cater to the huge rush of patients but his announcement remained confined to papers only. “BJP-PDP coalition is committed to serve the people and doesn't believe in rhetoric,” he added.
